"Mama, I'm a chocolate-holic"

When my niece Olivia was 4 years old, she realized she was powerless over chocolate and her life was unmanageable. She told her mom: "Mama, I'm a chocolate-holic". She got the terminology a bit wrong, but her mom understood the gist. Well, admitting you have a problem is the First Step. (Literally, it IS the first step out of "The Twelve Steps".) We all thought that was the cutest thing to ever come out of her mouth, but seriously, chocolate-holism in a 4 year old is nothing to sneeze at. That be some serious stuff. It can lead to a lifetime of surreptitious wrapper crinkling, vending machine rage, and finally... despair.

Fast forward a few years, and Olivia still has the chocolate problem, as do we all.

Here is a product newly released upon the market of choco-holics:

Le Whif Inhaled Chocolate

Le Whif is a revolutionary new way of eating chocolate - by breathing it! Imagine, chocolate without the calories. Be the first to try inhaled chocolate when Le Whif goes on sale later this month in four luscious flavors: mint chocolate, raspberry chocolate, mango chocolate, and plain chocolate.

Harvard professor David Edwards, lead inventor of Le Whif, says: "Over the centuries we've been eating smaller and smaller quantities at shorter and shorter intervals. It seemed to us that eating was tending toward breathing, so, with a mix of culinary art and aerosol science, we've helped move eating habits to their logical conclusion. We call it whiffing."

It's kind of like the "O'Douls of chocolate"...

Somehow I think this product is going to tank!

Olivia is still a chocoholic and has at least one little piece a day, like a Hershey's kiss size. She is very picky about her chocolate though. If it's not great chocolate, she won't eat it. Some chocolate the Easter Bunny left was not up to her standards. Also, we found a box of 8 Hershey's bars in our closet and we didn't know how long htey had been there. They look fine, no white stuff on them or anything, but she says they're spoiled. She's probably right. I tasted them and I have to admit that they don't seem quite fresh and they don't melt in your mouth the way they normally do. I can't believe she's already such a conniseur (sp?)
